Charlotte Seymour, Lady Aylesford

Charlotte Seymour (1730-1805) was the daughter of Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset, and his second wife Lady Charlotte Finch (1711-1773), daughter of Daniel Finch, 7th Earl of Winchilsea and later 2nd Earl of Nottingham. She married Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Aylesford, and they had twelve children. Four of her sons became officers in the British army or navy. Her son Captain John Finch died at the battle of Short Hills during the American War of Independence.
