(b. April 22, 1746, Somerset, England – d. 1808, London, England )

Gender: F

Elizabeth Campbell, née Freind, was born on 22 April 1746 to William Freind, (bapt. 1715-1766), dean of canterbury and friend of Elizabeth Montagu, and Grace Freind, née Robinson (1718-1776), sister of Elizabeth Montagu's uncle, Richard Robinson (1708-1794), bishop of Armagh, most likely at their home in Canterbury. She married (c.1767) Duncan Campbell, a captain in the Marines stationed at Chatham. She appears in Montagu's correspondence primarily as the daughter of William Freind, with only one letter directly from Elizabeth Montagu to her still extant, a 1767 congratulating her on her choice of Duncan Campbell. She died in January 1808.
