Thomas Charles Bigge was a banker, landowner and High Sherriff of Northumberland. He married Jemima Ord, daughter of William Ord and Ann Ord, née Dillingham, in 1772. He had 4 sons and 6 daughters; Charles William Bigge (1773–1849), merchant, banker and High Sheriff of Northumberland from 1802; William Edward; Thomas Hanway Bigge ( 1776, bapt. 1784 – 1824); John Bigge (1780–1843), Chief Justice of Trinidad in 1813; Grace Julia (1791-1872), married Thomas Christopher Glyn (1789-1827), barrister-at-law, third son of Sir Richard Carr Glyn, 1st Baronet, in 1824; then Henry Barne Sawbridge in 1836; Jemima Bigge (1776-?); Mary Ann Bigge (1777-?); Charlotte Bigge (1781-?); Elizabeth Bigge (1782-?); Jemima Susanna Bigge (1788-?). In 1774 he was an unsuccessful parliamentary candidate for Morpeth, Northumberland
