John Robinson (known as Jack) was one of Elizabeth Montagu’s three younger brothers, and her favourite in their youth. He attended Westminster School but developed some sort of mental illness (possibly schizophrenia) which meant he was put in the care of a keeper. She continued to visit him and look after his financial interests.
