Poems on Sundry Occasions(1764) by poet William Shenstone. EM organized a subscription for the second edition of 1767 and had him appointed land bailiff at Sandleford. After their falling out, Woodhouse characterized her patronage as ‘bondage’ while EM found his Methodist-inspired sense of entitlement hard to stomach. His brother, Joseph Woodhouse, was Montagu's steward (along with Edward Brown) in the north.
