Hester Stanhope, Viscountess Mahon was the first wife of Charles Stanhope, Viscount Mahon, later the 3rd Earl Stanhope (1753-1816), and the eldest daughter of William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham (1708-1778). She had three children, including Lady Hester Stanhope (1776–1839), the prominent traveller and Arabist.
