John Pringle (1707-1782), 1st Baronet Pringle of Pall Mall, youngest son of Sir John Pringle, 2nd Baronet Pringle of Stichill, Roxburghshire and his wife Magdalen. He was an eminent Scottish physician who practised in London, and in 1766 was appointed physician to King George III. He was President of the Royal Society from 1772-1778.
