Margaret Chudleigh was the daughter of Sir George Chudleigh, 4th Baronet, and Frances Davie. She married Henry Oxenden (1724-1803), the son of Sir George Oxenden, reportedly bringing him a fortune of £50,000. She became Lady Oxenden in 1775, when her husband succeeded to the baronetcy. They had one son, Henry (1756-1838), who became the 7th Baronet.
