Mrs Kennet was the wife of a Kentish farmer who served as wet-nurse for Elizabeth Montagu's son John 'Punch' Montagu (1743-44). Her presence in Montagu's correspondence consists of a single extant letter from Montagu to Kennet, giving details of a £50 bond with which she was paid for her services.
