John James Majendie

John James Majendie (1709-1783) was a canon of Windsor from 1774 until his death in the Canon's Cloister in Windsor Castle in 1783. He was Queen Charlotte’s domestic chaplain and tutored the prince of Wales and the duke of York. The son of Hugeunot migrants, he maintained connections with the Huguenot communities in France and Hungary, and solicited aid for the Huguenots throughout his clerical career.
