Matthew Robinson jnr

(b. 1767, Denton Court, Denton, Kent – d. Aug. 19, 1827, Burghfield, Reading, Berkshire )

Gender: M

Matthew Robinson was the only surviving son of Rev William Robinson and Mary Richardson Robinson. He attended the King’s School at Ely with a tutor, Revd. Caesar Morgan, who also accompanied him to Christ’s College, Cambridge. He appears to have struggled with his education but succeeded in taking holy orders. He followed Caesar Morgan as Rector of Coveney in Cambridgeshire in 1791, and in 1800 his father resigned to him the living of Burghfield in Berkshire, a position he held for twenty-six years. He married Mary Ann Parsons, sister of a clergyman in Arundel, Sussex, and died childless.
