Gaetano Majorano (1710–1783), an Italian castrato and opera singer who used the stage name Caffarelli. He performed in London in 1737-38, with title roles in Handel’s Faramondo and Serse (Oxford Music Online). In MO 271 (EMCO 164), Montagu incorrectly refers to him as Gafferelli.
