Sophia Travanion was the daughter of John and Barbara Travnion. She succeeded to a moiety of the Travanion estates as co-heir to her brother William, who died in 1763. Sophia married Vice Admiral John Byron, her first cousin, 8 September 1748. Together they had two sons and seven daughters.
