Ferdinand, Prince of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1721-1792) was a field-marshal in the army of Frederick of Great of Prussia during the Seven Years War. From 1757 to 1762 he led an Anglo-German army which successfully repelled French attempts to occupy Hanover, during which time he was directly responsible to Hanover’s ruler, the British king George II.
