Edward Stanley, 11th Earl of Derby (1689-1776). He married Elizabeth Hesketh in 1714. He was succeeded to the Earldom by his grandson, Edward Smith-Stanley (1752-1834), since his son, James Smith-Stanley, Lord Strange (1716-1771), had predeceased him. His daughter, Lady Charlotte Stanley (d.1776), married General John Burgoyne (1722-1792) in 1752 without permission.
