Jane Trimnell was the daughter of David Trimnell. In 1744 she married Isaac Hawkins Browne, and they had one child, also named Isaac. She asked Elizabeth Carter to translate her husband’s poem on the immortality of the soul, De Animi Immortalitate, but Carter claimed that she “could as soon have built a house” (Carter to Catherine Talbot,18th March 1754).
